Refund & Cancellation Policy
When registration fees are refundable, when they are not, and how to raise a request.
Last updated 3 August 2026
The short version
The ₹100 registration fee is non-refundable once payment succeeds, because it immediately reserves your seat, quiz materials and refreshments. The exceptions below are the cases where we do refund.
When we refund in full
- The organisers cancel the event and it is not rescheduled.
- A duplicate payment is charged for the same participant — the extra amount is returned.
- An amount is debited but the registration was not created or confirmed at our end.
- A technical failure at our end prevents you from participating despite a confirmed registration.
When we do not refund
- You choose not to attend, or are unable to attend for personal reasons.
- You arrive after the reporting time and are unable to take part in a round.
- You are disqualified for malpractice or a breach of the event rules.
- You are found ineligible because incorrect information was submitted at registration.
- The event is rescheduled or relocated and you choose not to attend the revised event.
Failed payments
If a payment fails, no registration is confirmed and no fee is due. Some banks briefly show an authorisation hold against a failed attempt; this is released automatically, typically within 5 to 7 working days. You do not need to raise a request for it.
How to request a refund
Email support@scomm.tech from the address you registered with, including:
- Your Registration ID (for example, XQZ-2026-00042).
- The Payment ID from your confirmation email, or the bank reference number.
- The date and amount of the transaction.
- A one-line description of what went wrong.
We acknowledge requests within 2 working days. Approved refunds are initiated within 7 working days and are credited back to the original payment method. Your bank may take a further 5 to 10 working days to reflect the credit.
Payment gateway
Registration fees are collected using the officially authorised Zoho Payment Gateway registered under Surya Prasad Nayak, Student Coordinator, School of Communications, XIM University. Refunds are issued through the same gateway and to the same instrument used for the original payment. We cannot refund to a different account.
