Terms & Conditions

Please read these terms before registering. Completing a registration means you accept them.

1. Acceptance

By submitting the registration form and paying the registration fee for XQUIZIT, you agree to these Terms & Conditions and to our Privacy Policy. If you are under 18, you confirm that your parent or legal guardian has read and accepted these terms on your behalf.

2. Eligibility

  • Participants must be currently enrolled students of classes 8 to 12 at a recognised school.
  • Any board and any medium of instruction is eligible. The competition is conducted in English.
  • A valid school identity card must be produced at the registration desk on the day of the event. Entry is not permitted without it.
  • The organisers may verify eligibility at any stage and may disqualify a participant found ineligible.

3. Registration

  • Registration is individual. Teams are constituted by the organisers after registrations close and are communicated by email.
  • A registration is confirmed only when payment succeeds and a Registration ID is issued.
  • Each participant may hold one confirmed registration. Duplicate registrations may be cancelled.
  • You are responsible for the accuracy of the information you submit. Incorrect details may delay or invalidate your participation.
  • Registrations close on 28 August 2026. Late or spot registrations will not be accepted.
  • Seats are limited. Registrations open for eligible school students.

4. Fees and payment

  • The registration fee is ₹100 per participant, inclusive of all charges.
  • Payments are collected using the officially authorised Zoho Payment Gateway registered under Surya Prasad Nayak, Student Coordinator, School of Communications, XIM University.
  • Card, UPI and banking details are entered on the payment gateway's secure interface. The organisers neither see nor store them.
  • If an amount is debited but no confirmation is received, email us with your Registration ID and the bank reference. Verified duplicate or failed-but-debited amounts are refunded.
  • Refunds are otherwise governed by our Refund Policy.

5. Conduct at the event

  • Participants must report by the stated reporting time. Late arrivals may be refused entry to a round in progress.
  • Mobile phones, smart watches and any internet-enabled device must be switched off and surrendered during the rounds.
  • Any form of malpractice, impersonation, or unsporting conduct results in immediate disqualification without refund.
  • Participants must follow the instructions of the quizmaster, volunteers and campus security at all times.
  • The organisers are not responsible for participants' personal belongings.

6. Quiz rules and results

  • The detailed rulebook is circulated by email before the event and forms part of these terms.
  • The quizmaster's decision on the correctness of an answer is final and binding.
  • In case of a tie, the tie-breaker method announced at the event will apply.
  • The organisers reserve the right to alter the format, number of rounds or scoring scheme, and will communicate any change before the round begins.

7. Media consent

The School of Communications documents the event through photography and video. By participating, you consent to your image, voice and performance being recorded and used by the organisers and Eminora Ventures for reporting, archival and promotional purposes, without any claim to compensation. If you object, write to support@scomm.tech before the event and we will make reasonable efforts to accommodate the request.

8. Changes and cancellation

The organisers may reschedule, relocate or modify the event where circumstances require it, and will notify registered participants by email. If the organisers cancel the event outright and it is not rescheduled, registration fees will be refunded in full.

9. Liability

Participants attend at their own risk and are responsible for their own travel to and from the venue. The organisers, XIM University and Eminora Ventures are not liable for any loss, injury or damage except to the extent caused by their own gross negligence and where liability cannot be excluded by law.

10. Intellectual property

The XQUIZIT name, logo, question sets, and all site content are the property of the organisers and their licensors. Question content may not be recorded, reproduced or redistributed without written permission.

11. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of India. Any dispute is subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts at Bhubaneswar, Odisha.
